On Saturday, May 1, Team Austin met to walk in the Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis Walk on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station. We had about 15 members of the fundraising team and some friends and family joined us for the walk.
We had a warm, mostly cloudy morning to complete our 3 mile walk. We had a pregnant mom, grandmothers and kids as young as four joining our team to support the cure for CF.
Nanie, Austin and Papa before the walk.
Melissa, Austin and David Hollon.
And the Hodge Family….Kevin, Heather, Austin, Ty and Nathan.
Fifty years ago, children with CF usually did not live long enough to attend elementary school. Today, because of Foundation-supported research and care, the median predicted age of survival for people with CF is more than 37 years.
The most exciting blessing of the day was the final donation tally. Team Austin raised $9,033.10 for research to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.
We pray that our fundraising efforts will help make CF stand for "Cure Found"!
