Father’s Day

We have so much to celebrate on Father’s Day with so many wonderful fathers in our family.  We have three great sons-in-law that I am blessed to say are fantastic fathers.  Steve is such a fine example and is leaving a great legacy of faith.  We celebrated Father’s Day with Heather and family as well as the Hodge and Brown families.  We so enjoy spending some holidays and birthdays with them.

Again, we are so thankful for the fathers that have influenced and guided our lives.

Ty’s Tenth Birthday

Another birthday celebration week….this time for Ty’s 10th birthday.  He celebrated by going to dinner with his immediate family, then again with extended family and finally a pool party with friends.

Maui–Part 3

One late afternoon we took the windy ride up to Haleakala Crater going from sea level up to nearly 10,000 feet.  The view of the crater was partially blocked by clouds but still very eerily beautiful.

The last night we were on Maui we went to a luau.  It was a great evening.  We enjoyed the company at our table, traditional Hawaiian food and great entertainment.  The luau was right on the beach on beautiful grounds. 

It was a very happy 40th anniversary.

Maui–Part 2

The Road to Hana is a must if you are travelling to Maui.  The scenery along the coast, the many waterfalls and just changes in climate and topography is interesting.  Lots of photos following….along the road, multiple waterfalls, black sand beach, a gorgeous hike and the south shore of Maui.

Maui–Part 1

Maui was everything we had heard about it and more.  Such a diverse landscape, wonderful weather and gorgeous scenery.

We stayed in a condo with a beautiful view at Ka’anapali Beach in west Maui.  Following are a few photos of the area around Ka’anapali Beach.

One day we drove around the north shore of Maui.  We saw beautiful volcanic shoreline, mountains, a blowhole, rocky pools and jungle.  Such a gorgeous drive.  We thought it was nearly as good as the Road to Hana.

Another day we went snorkeling in Honolua Bay which is a Marine Life Conservation area.  It was amazing!  Beautiful fish of every color, eels, sea turtles and large coral reef. (photos below)

Excursion boats came in late morning and brought snorkelers.  Steve and I snorkeled for almost three hours and the time just flew by as we were mesmerized by the world below us.
