The Gintherhof

While in Bavaria and Tirol we stayed with the family Ginther at their farm home just across the border of Germany in Austria.  The first floor of the home is 700 years old and the family Ginther has occupied the home for more than 400 years.  It has been a bed and breakfast since 1936.

This was our suite on the third floor.

A cozy king bed with down comforters.  No air conditioning needed!

A sweet note from Annaliese our hostess.

Steve and I at breakfast which was absolutely delicious.  She always had us make sandwiches for lunch with the leftover meats and cheeses.

When we first arrived I saw the scene above on one side of the house….these are the basement windows…..

And upon closer inspection this is what was inside!  The basement housed about five cattle.  Unfortunately, we could smell them all the way on the third floor.

These last two photos were taken out our third story windows when I woke up in the morning.  We loved staying with the family Ginther!
