Steve and I went for an evening walk at the end of a recent gorgeous day. The weather was just perfect!
Our front yard is full of bluebonnets, but a just a street over has these beautiful fields of all varieties of wildflowers. These photos were all taken with my iphone. This phone sometimes surprises me with a pretty good photo!
I took photos of James, Andrew and Kylie in the wildflowers while there were here over spring break. I must get the Hodge boys here next week for photos while the wildflowers are at their peak!

The bluebonnets are not quite at their peak but are outstanding this year.
Well… actually Melissa and David went on a “babymoon” to Cabo before baby number 2 arrives in May. Steve and I had James for several days and he did great despite his teething. Following are some photos from his stay.
First bubble bath….he was not sure about the bubbles.
He loved the park….this was the only day it wasn’t raining.
We built a “fort” and he hid inside.
Played with his cousins. They taught him about swords and light sabers.
Took a walk with Papa and Nanie when the rain stopped.
And played in the puddles for a while. We had a great time with James!
One of my favorite things to do when getting ready to post a “happy birthday” is to look back through the old photos of that particular person.
Such a cute little guy.
And growing up to be a handsome and sweet young man. Happy Birthday….. We love you Andrew!
Kylie has started her spring select team soccer season and last Saturday while in Austin we attended her first game. These girls continue to improve each time we see them. They were missing some players this weekend so there were no subs. These girls literally ran for an hour straight with just a short break for halftime. The did an awesome job.

While in Austin last weekend Shauna and I took on a project of stenciling a wall in her master bedroom. Neither of us had stenciled before so there was a bit of a learning curve. But after a few hours of work we called the end result a success!
The center of the wall was no problem.
But the corners by the windows were pretty difficult.
We love projects like this but this time we were a little apprehensive that Mark would like it. Both Mark and Steve said they were pleasantly surprised how much they liked the wall. When Shauna and Mark tire of the wall they can simply paint over it….so much easier that dealing with wallpaper. This geometric design goes so well with their love of modern/retro design.
