Steve and I finally pulled the trigger on a couple of projects we have been contemplating for a while. We are replacing the asphalt drive with concrete that should last us the rest of our lives! We are also adding a screened patio and grill pad with gazebo out back. In our old family room we had what we called the “french doors to nowhere”, so it was a natural decision to put a screened patio out there. Without the screening we would be eaten alive by mosquitos.
Following is the progress during week one.
Before picture.
Grill pad beginning to be formed.
Screened patio covered before a rain.
Grill pad ready to be poured.
Patio ready for concrete.
Meanwhile the driveway is poured.
Rock salt treatment on the patio and grill pad concrete. We have seen the samples and it will look good once it is stained. It will help keep the patio from being too slick.
This week is a slow one work-wise as we are waiting another week for the concrete to cure and dry before it is stained. We are anxious to finish and enjoy the spring weather on the screen patio!
