Last spring when I took photos of Kylie and Andrew I did not get a good one of them together. The sun was bothering Andrew and we just ran out of time. So while I had them for a few days we took some photos. Here are a few of my favorites.

Kylie and Andrew came to spend a few days with us last week. This wasn’t quite the traditional “Grandkids Weekend” that we usually have since someone has gotten sick for the past four years. So this time we did a few things together but the Hodge boys did not spend the night. This at least made Kylie feel a little more safe from illness. And…with limited togetherness and lots of prayer…no one got sick! Following are some photos of some of the things we enjoyed.
First stop Elm Creek Café on the trip to CS from Austin. We love their fried green tomatoes, chicken fried steak and pie.
Next up was swimming at Adamson Lagoon. They spent lots of time in Lily Pad Lane.

That evening we went to Dickey’s for dinner. This was the kids table. Kylie and Austin have graduated and sit with the adults.
The next morning we took Kylie and Andrew fishing. It was a beautiful morning but we had no luck catching fish. Both kids did really well at casting. Next time we are going to search out a new fishing spot where we have more chance to catch some fish.
We had brunch after fishing at Cracker Barrel.
Will (5wks) was visiting for the weekend as well and he did lots of sleeping and smiling. We all went to the movie “Brave” that afternoon. Later that evening we grilled and enjoyed dinner with all the cousins in our screened porch. I forgot to take photos of that.
Sunday morning we went to church and then headed down to Round Top to meet Shauna and Mark and enjoy lunch together at Royer’s…mmmm.
We will have the Hodge boys spend a couple of days next week. Time to shoot off some fireworks!
We celebrated Father’s Day with the Hodge family on Monday after Father’s Day. We enjoyed dinner at Wings then ice cream cake and gifts at Tiffany’s. Steve and I always enjoy spending time with the Hodge family.

After Shauna’s family left last week I headed for Houston to visit Melissa and family for a couple of days. I mostly just helped with the kids and let Melissa get out by herself to run a few errands. We also put up the vinyl name decals that she had for each of the boy’s rooms. I wish I would have taken a picture of them. The application went smoothly but there was lots of measuring and re-measuring to get them just right.

I think he resembles James as an infant but definitely has a look of his own. His eyes are looking like they will stay blue. He was almost smiling so I am pretty sure I will get a few smiles by the next time we see him.

Just a couple of photos of Will at nearly three weeks. Newborns grow and change quickly so I want to document these days.
He is such a calm sweet baby.
Nathan had his last Upward soccer game this past weekend. He had a very successful season of learning cooperation, skills and sportsmanship. He also scored lots of goals. The following series of photos shows one of his goals.
