Will at Three Months

Will is such a sweet baby.  His smiles come easily and for anyone.   It is so fun to watch him grow and see his personality develop.   He will coo and “talk” to you for as long as you will talk to him.   I took photos of him during his recent visit to our house.  Here are a few photos of Will at three months.

He has beautiful blue eyes like his brother and a sweet smile all his own.

Water Play

While James was visiting last week we spent a couple of hours playing in the water.  It was really hot and it was the only way we could be outside was to include water to cool off.  James had a great time playing in the pool and spraying his mom and me.

Later that evening Steve got out the mower so that James could ride on it with him.  James had been asking to ride every time he saw his Papa.  They rode around the yard and up and down the street.

And the next morning James was asking to ride again.

Moose

The first day the Alexander's were in Colorado we went for a bike ride down Vail Pass.  Just outside of Copper Mountain we happened upon a moose in the water along the bike path.  Awesome!  We had been here a month and had not seen a moose but the Alexander's saw one the first day.

Love seeing the wildlife in Summit County.

Willow Falls via Mesa Cortina Trail

Steve and I had hiked to Willow Falls three years ago.  It is about a 9 mile hike but last time we had taken a two mile detour for a total of 11 miles....our legs were so tired.  This time we stuck to the trail and even so we were definitely fatigued after the hike.

We love the reward of a waterfall at the end of a long hike.  We spent quite some time around the waterfall exploring above and below the falls.  This was enjoyable but long.

Kayaking on Lake Dillon

Another new adventure for Steve and I was kayaking on Lake Dillon.  Early one Monday morning we set out along the shore and around the islands of Lake Dillon.  The lake was like glass.....so calm and peaceful. 

In this last pic you can see the tip of the kayak heading back to the marina.  We spent two hours just paddling around the lake, watching the fish jump and and taking in the cool of the morning.  So relaxing!

McCullough Gulch Trail

McCullough Gulch Trail is a new hike to us and the trailhead is just past the Mount Quandary trailhead where we hiked and summited Mt. Quandary last year.  This hike was somewhat steep but only about 3 miles round trip.

This hike had beautiful vistas, upper and lower waterfalls, an alpine lake and mountain goats grazing.  The trail is very accessible and if I had to recommend just one hike in the area, I think it would be McCullough Gulch.  We had a wonderful time on this hike.

Colorado Skies

When we are in Colorado God's beauty in nature is just so apparent to me.  This year it seems like he painted the skies just so I would praise Him and his marvelous creation.  Just take a look at the beautiful Colorado skies.....whether it is sunrise, sunset, sunny or stormy, all are glorious.

We have been stargazing a couple of nights and we hear there is a meteor shower soon so we will go to see the stars again before coming back to Texas.
